- Demonstrates extensive knowledge or significant experience in pharmacy procedures such as automated dispensing cabinet optimization, sterile products compounding, terminal cleaning, inventory management, controlled substance management, and/or surgery pharmacy.
- Accurately fill and label medication orders with correct strength, dosage form, and quantity in a timely manner.
- Accurately stock automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) in a timely manner; maintain ADC cleanliness; destock expired meds from ADC.
- Check medication rooms and patient bins for discontinued or expired meds and return them to pharmacy.
- Fill/refill emergency crash carts, boxes, and kits timely and accurately.
- Assist in performing various duties as assigned.
The individual in this position acts under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and provides assistance in dispensing functions, including: purchasing, inventory control of all drug classes, sterile product preparation and associated equipment maintenance, and automated dispensing cabinet equipment and inventory maintenance. Also performs technical duties to maintain pharmaceutical dispensing functions to all neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including inpatients and outpatients.
- Required:
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent
- Experience: 4 years of hospital pharmacy experience
- Certifications:
- Registered Pharmacy Technician license or Pharmacy Technician certification, as required by state law.
- Accredited training in sterile products preparation and IV Admixture Certification
