Pharmacy Buyer Full Time Rotate
Job Details
Place daily and restock vendor orders for pharmaceuticals and supplies in timely manner. Review and check accuracy of all orders and requisitions. Review contract pricing and report any price discrepancies to Director. Coordinate all product returns with wholesaler or vendors. Accurately stock ADCs in a timely manner. Complete monthly medication inspections as assigned and ensure medication integrity and appropriate documentation. Maintain stock levels at established levels to avoid stock out and adhere to contracts and formulary requirements. Maintain proper records of purchase orders, returns, outdated medications, recalls, and inter-hospital transfers. Follow proper process for handling of controlled substances and report any variances to Supervisor or pharmacist-in-charge. Process pharmaceutical invoices and other billing receipts or purchase orders in timely manner. Seek costs savings opportunities and identify purchasing area of improvement. Assist in preparation of physical inventory.
Qualifications
Education
Required: High school graduate or equivalent
Preferred: Bachelor’s or associate degree
Experience
Preferred: 2 years of hospital experience
Certifications
Required: Registered Pharmacy Technician license. Pharmacy Technician certification (both based on state requirements)
Physical Demands
- Lift/position up to 50 lbs.
- Push/pull up to 50 lbs. of force.
- Frequent standing and walking.
- Frequent reaching, stooping, and bending.
- Manual dexterity, mobility, touch, auditory to perform all the related duties of the position.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The individual in this position will assist in the procurement function of department, under the supervision of the licensed pharmacist (depending on state regulations).
