Pharmacy Tech II Per Diem Rotate
Job Details
Summary
Under the direction of a registered staff pharmacist, prepares routine orders for unit dose dispensing, prepackaged pharmaceuticals, prepared intravenous solution for dispensing, and performs related duties as assigned by the pharmacist. Responsible for restocking crash carts accurately and efficiently following established policies for final pharmacist’s check. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.
Qualifications
Education
Required: High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
Experience
Required: 5 years hospital experience. IV Certified at least 3 years.
Preferred: 3 years hospital experience. Must have previous work experience as a Certified Pharmacy Technician and be able to demonstrate mastery of all Pharmacy Technician Competencies.
Certifications
Required: Must be registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Must have passed the national PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) exam and must be certified as a CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician). Accredited training in sterile products preparation. BLS
Preferred: Leadership role and proficient in 5 of 5 following pharmacy positions: 1) OR 2) purchasing 3) Medication Reconciliation 4) M1 duties or 5) Chemo experience at least 1 year or equivalent from other facilities.
