Position Summary
Reporting to the CIO the Vice President of Applications provides strategic and operational leadership for enterprise applications across the healthcare system (Tenet, USPI, TPR, Rev Cycle). This role oversees clinical, financial, operational, and corporate application platforms, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, scalability, security, and digital innovation. The VP partners with executive, clinical, operational, and IT leaders to deliver reliable, modern technology solutions that support patient care and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead enterprise application strategy, modernization, governance, and lifecycle management.
• Oversee core platforms supporting clinical systems, EHR, revenue cycle, finance, operations, and interoperability.
• Drive large-scale transformation initiatives involving cloud, automation, AI-enabled workflows, and platform optimization.
• Ensure application performance, compliance, security, service quality, and alignment with healthcare workflows.
• Lead cross-functional programs, manage vendors and managed services, and oversee operational and capital budgets.
• Build high-performing teams and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field required; Master’s preferred.
• 15+ years of leadership experience in healthcare IT and enterprise applications.
• Experience leading complex healthcare application environments and large transformation initiatives.
• Knowledge of Oracle Health/Cerner, Athenahealth, HR platforms, cloud strategy, and application modernization.
• Strong background in vendor management, financial oversight, governance, and executive stakeholder engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in large for-profit healthcare systems.
• Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or enterprise integrations.
• Familiarity with healthcare AI, analytics, and automation technologies.
