Job Summary

Per Diem, Rotate

Position Summary

The EKG Tech is responsible for performing routine, stat, pre-operative and outpatient EKG testing. This testing also includes Holter monitor set-ups. May perform Holter scanning if certified in 12-lead EKG. Assists in all phases of acquisition and storage of all EKG materials. Participates in report generation, as well as charting and delivery. Requires excellent communication skills among co-workers, hospital staff, and physicians. Responsible for notifying physicians of stat EKGs to be read.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates the ability to adapt to varied age-specific patient populations.
  • Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster. Responsible for knowing the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.
Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum: High School or Equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

  • One (1) year previous hospital experience preferred

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Computer knowledge/experience, AHA BLS certification.
