The Electrophysiology Tech performs specialized cardiovascular procedures in the Electrophysiology Laboratory (EP), including but not limited to: records hemodynamic pressures and computerized data, operates special X-Ray equipment, burns c.d.’s, assists the invasive/interventional cardiologist with procedures using sterile technique and has knowledge of cardiac medications
Responsibilities
- Reports for scheduled shift on time and prepared to assume responsibilities.
- Attends and participates in meetings and is responsible for information.
- Adheres to Corporate, Regional, Hospital and Departmental policy and procedure 100% of the time.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Minimum:
- Graduate of accredited program in Radiology Technology, or Equivalent or
- Graduate of accredited Cardiovascular Invasive program or equivalent (CCI/CVT) or
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology Program
EXPERIENCE:
- One- year experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, EP Laboratory preferred.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
- Radiologic Technologist
- Radiologic Technology Registration/Licensure as required (ARRT)
- Florida License CRT
- RCIS within 12 months of hire required.
- AHA ACLS Certification
- AHA BLS Certification
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology Program
- AHA BLS Certification
- AHA ACLS Certification
- Registry or Certification of Cardiovascular Technologist, RCES or RCIS within 12 months of hire.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Field of expertise: Cardiac Catheterization/Electrophysiology
- Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language.
- Able to perform effectively in a complex, patient centered environment.
