Position Summary:
The Patient Advocate will facilitate timely resolution of complaints and grievances as well as assist the members of the Administrative team in the day-to-day operations of the hospital performing a variety of confidential secretarial and administrative support duties for the Associate Chief Nurse Officer and the Patient Safety Officer.
As the Patient Advocate, this position works with leadership and administration to promote and reinforce service excellence throughout the organization. Responsible for proactively managing patient experience at the facility/unit/department level. Provides direct feedback to management in the implementation of changes to achieve and sustain patient experience best practices to meet organizational goals and support a culture of service and operational excellence. Assists and collaborates with clinical leadership with patient experience improvement efforts. Proficient in data management and interpretation. Utilizes data and applies critical thinking and problem solving skills to analyze performance gaps and present to respective stakeholders.

Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Associate Degree and/or Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred; Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training and performance in a similar role with a proven track record of superior results.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a hospital setting required, hospitality industry, or related customer service experience.

  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently
  • Ability to create trusting relationships
  • Demonstrates initiative, accountability and achieves appropriate outcomes
  • Strong sense of personal accountability, passion and ownership for achieving and sustaining a culture of patient experience excellence
  • Superior written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interface effectively with physicians, nursing, non-nursing and executive leadership
  • Demonstrates ability to analyze, plan, organize, troubleshoot and manage time well
  • Flexibility to adapt to change
  • Adept with all computer based applications
