Position Summary:


Directs the Operations of the Diagnostic Imaging services at Medical Center Imaging department, and the Off Campus Emergency Dept (OCED), including: CT, Nuclear Medicine, Radiology, Ultrasound, MRI, and Interventional Radiology.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.    Reports for scheduled shift on time and prepared to assume responsibilities.
- Reports to work in proper uniform or attire.      
- Leaves for meal break on time and returns on time.
- Varies work schedule to meet the needs of the department.
- Schedules all time off with supervisors approval.  
- Strictly adheres to hospital attendance/tardiness policies 100% of the time.
- Performs all duties as assigned.   
- Wears I.D. badge in a visible location at all times on hospital property.

2.    Attends and participates in meetings and is responsible for information communicated at meetings. 
- Attends all hospital mandatory inservices on a timely basis as scheduled.              
- Participates as an active team member at Leadership or committee meetings.                                    
- Reads communications and acts upon in a positive and informative manner.         
- Is an active participant in assigned Process Improvement meetings.

3.    Adheres to Corporate, Regional, hospital and departmental policy and procedure 100% of the time.
- Reads and comprehends the company's Standards of Conduct.  During the past evaluation period, has demonstrated compliance with the company's Ethics program.           
- Has participated in one hour of Standards of Conduct training within the last 12 months.
- Understands that compliance with Corporate Integrity Program is a condition of employment, and violation of any principles or practices of the program will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination. 
- Maintains confidentiality regarding patient/employee/ facility/corporate information 100% of the time. 
- Accepts change as an opportunity for growth, learning and development; adapts to changing procedures and goals in a cooperative and positive manner.
                                       
4.    Assists all patients, family members, physicians, visitors and employees in a professional and courteous manner. 
- Extends special attention and sensitivity to all patients, visitors, physicians, and fellow employees.
- Assists in maintaining an atmosphere of cooperation with other departments and allied professionals.
- Demonstrates respect and cooperation in all staff relationships, and a genuine willingness to prevent or resolve inter-personal conflicts.
- Demonstrates the ability to participate in and/or implement team decisions.
- Actively participates in and encourages actions that promote good public relations with patients' families, visitors and the community.
- Works together in a spirit of teamwork.

5.    Adheres to the following environmental care standards.
- Demonstrates adequate knowledge of Safety Policies and Procedures, Hazardous Material procedures, and Safety Codes.
- Demonstrates adequate knowledge of Security issues, i.e. personal protection, protection of personal and hospital property.
                                                                                                                                                    
6.    Demonstrates the ability to adapt to varied age-specific patient populations
Modifies the interview technique to adequately assess the patient by identifying the physical, psychosocial, and educational needs common to the age group.


7.    Accepts supervisory responsibility for your department functions and promotes hospital-wide leadership image.
- Follows policy and procedure for recruitment and interviewing of all potential new hires with the approval of Administration and Human Resources.
- Responsible for ensuring all new employees attend orientation on their first day of work.
- Responsible for monitoring competency levels of employees and providing staff development through education.
- Conducts staff meetings, and keeps minutes and attendance logs on file.
- Submits all completed employee performance reviews to Human Resources in a timely manner.
- Notifies supervisor and Human Resources of all disciplinary action. Documents clearly all disciplinary action and submits originals to Human Resources while keeping copies in departmental file.
- Attends unemployment hearings and testifies in court when required.
- Completes all personnel change notice forms completely for all employee changes with appropriate approvals.
- Completes and updates job descriptions for all departmental positions.
- Responsible for communicating, monitoring compliance of all  hospital/departmental policies and procedure to each employee within their sector.
 

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
Minimum:      Bachelor’s Degree

EXPERIENCE:  

Minimum three (3) years supervisory experience in all diagnostic imaging functions

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:  

Accredited program in Radiologic Technology, ARRT registration, Florida License
