Job Summary

Full Time, Rotate

Supervision of the Sterile Processing Department also falls under the direction of this position and he/she is responsible for overseeing the decontamination, processing, and sterilization procedures within the Surgical Department. As part of the Surgical Services management team, the Sterile Processing Supervisor supports the hospital’s mission, goals, and objectives, and may participate in the on-call schedule as needed. The Sterile Processing Supervisor is responsible for all phases of instrument processing, supply procurement, implementing, measuring, billing and charge issues. The Sterile Processing Supervisor is accountable for the accuracy of the O.R. inventory and ensures that proper procedures are followed in obtaining new products, instrumentation, or equipment, working collaboratively with the surgery management team.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Minimum: 2 years in sterile processing or equivalent competencies/job experience

Preferred: Graduate Sterile Processing Program,Certification in Sterile Processing

EXPERIENCE:

Two years experience in sterile processing; one year supervisory or management experience.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:

Certified Central Service Technician or Certified Surgical Technician
