Position Summary
Supervision of transporters in all patient care areas. Responsible for daily operation of transport department to include deployment and reassignment of transporters throughout the facility. Strong ability to prioritize, effectively manage through multiple requests and excellent customer service skills are key competencies for the position Ensure staff compliance to all applicable policies and procedures of the Department, Medical Center, and guidelines of regulatory agencies. (ACHA, JCAHO). Assures standards of care are followed. Assists supervisor with in-service education programs for staff. Participates in data collection for statistical and quality improvement reports.
Oversees transport department personnel and provides transportation services to the campus to facilitate timely transport of patients to and from ancillary departments. Participates in Department and Facility activities as required. Extremely heavy physical effort (lift/carry 50 lbs. or more); Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking; Lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transports patients. Demonstrates the ability to adapt to varied age-specific patient populations.
Position Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- Minimum: High School Diploma
- Preferred: Associates Degree
EXPERIENCE:
- Dispatch experience preferred; hospital experience preferred.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
- None
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent communication, customer service and computer skills.
