Position Summary

The Trauma Injury Prevention Coordinator is responsible and accountable for promoting, monitoring and evaluating high quality, safe, cost effective health care by all members of the trauma team. The Trauma Program & Injury Prevention Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and integration of trauma service improvement programs. This position is based on County, State and regulatory standards. Also responsible and accountable for development, promoting and implementation of injury prevention programs related to trauma center designation requirements.

Position Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Minimum: Education recognized by the State of Florida as qualification for Registered Nurse licensure.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum: Four (4) years of clinical experience in acute care facility with experience in Emergency, Critical Care, or Trauma care required. Quality and Process Improvement experience preferred.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:

  • Florida Registered Nurse license, American Heart Association BLS and ACLS required.
  • Certification in Critical Care, Emergency Nursing, and Case Management preferred.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards, Quality Improvement Process, and Risk Management
  • Knowledge of Infection Control Surveillance and Universal Precautions
  • Knowledge of Florida State Department of Health SATC/SAPTRC Approval Standards
  • Knowledge of Palm Beach County Health Care District Trauma Agency Mandates
  • Active participant in continuing education and professional groups in order to remain current in practice and changes in regulations.
  • Ability to use judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential information
