Position Summary:
A Unit Support Technician is responsible and accountable for the delivery of supportive patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse/Imaging or Special Diagnostics staff. A Unit Support Technician is responsible and accountable for assisting the staff in the provision of patient care and tending to the unit needs as assigned by the staff.
Responsibilities
- Ensures safe transportation of patients and specimens according to department policy and procedures on a daily basis as assigned by nursing team
- Maintains department equipment and organization of supply room
- Maintains and organizes cleanliness and organization of clinical areas
- Demonstrates good communication skills.
- Utilizes appropriate interpersonal skills as outlined in the Standards on Conduct and in accordance with customer service initiatives
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Minimum: High School graduate or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Previous healthcare experience preferred.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
American Heart Association BLS
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated customer service skills; ability to communicate effectively and multitask; excellent listening skills; courteous and empathetic demeanor.
