Director of RIM OP Therapy Clinics Full Time Days
Detroit, Michigan DMC Rehabilitation Institute of MichiganDMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan is one of the nation’s largest hospitals specializing in rehabilitation medicine and research. RIM is known for its clinical expertise in spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, amputee, orthopedics and catastrophic injury care. The Institute houses the Center for Spinal Cord Injury Recovery and the Southeastern Michigan Traumatic Brain Injury System (SEMTBIS), one of only 16 federally designated model systems of care for brain injury care and research. RIM also operates 31 outpatient sites throughout southeast Michigan specializing in sports medicine and orthopedics.
SUMMARY
Reporting to the Vice President, Operation at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (RIM), directs the personnel, operational and financial activities of multiple RIM outpatient clinics. Supports and assists senior leadership in developing goals, measures and strategic plans to meet the needs of the patient population as it relates to services. Responsible for developing and/or organizing systems and/or programs common to all ambulatory settings including facilities planning and maintenance, information systems, policies and procedures for regulatory compliance, medical record information flow, patient satisfaction, patient flow across services, service availability and employee in-service and education. Oversees or directs the development of policies for areas of responsibility. Approves policies and/or seeks other system, regional, clinical service approval as appropriate. Ensures the development of procedures/protocols and secures system approval as necessary. Oversees the development of functional processes, marketing and referral development for clinics. Creates and seeks approval of organizational structures. Approves personnel actions such as hires, fires, disciplines, etc. Ensures the timely completion of performance appraisals. Develops short to long range goals and measures for areas of responsibility, and oversees the assessment of goal attainment. Develops, seeks approval of, monitors and ensures compliance with budget. Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws, government regulations, JCAHO requirements and DMC policies. As directed, implements external and internal audit recommendations. Ensures hospital departments achieve objectives for diversity of their suppliers.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Master's degree preferred.
2. Current licensure, registration and/or certification as applicable.
3. Five years of progressively more responsible management experience. Management experience in a health care setting or rehabilitation clinical setting preferred.
