Job Summary
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, functions as a lead or resource person for personnel in designated Cardiology Services area(s), in addition to performing the duties of a Cardiac Sonographer. Coordinates the flow of work, oversees and follows up onactivities of Cardiac Sonographers, Cardiology Technicians, ECG/EEG professionals and/or other assigned personnel. As requested, provides input on performance appraisals and personnel actions such as hires, fires, disciplines and the like.
Resolves routine and complex problems and ensures that department is operating in a timely, safe and efficient manner. Provides input into policy development from a professional, technical or procedural perspective. As directed, provides input into procedure/protocol development, ensures compliance and provides interpretation of procedural intent as requested. Provides input into the development of immediate, daily and/or monthly goals and measures for area(s) of responsibility and compiles periodic performance data as required. Assists in monitoring budget for assigned area(s).
Qualifications:
1. Associates degree in cardiovascular, applied sciences or the equivalent in order to be familiar with the anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system and comprehend theoretical and conceptual bases of related testing procedures.
2. Two to three years experience in Echocardiography, Photo cardiology or equivalent related experience.
