As a proud member of the Detroit Medical Center, you'll practice alongside a 20+ physician hospitalist division that has grown from a two-provider team into a fully developed, fellowship-trained program. This is a chance to do meaningful work at a nationally recognized institution that is actively shaping the future of pediatric medicine through groundbreaking research and training.
Position Highlights
- Pediatric Hospitalist opportunity with the Division of Hospital Medicine at Children's Hospital of Michigan
- Block schedule — 13 blocks per year with vacation, holiday, and conference time built in
- Shifts range from 8 to 13 hours; approximately 50% of hours fall on weekends and holidays
- Clinical duties include floor rounding, Observation Unit day and night shifts, Evening SWAT shift, Newborn rounding at Hutzel Hospital, and circumcisions
- Patient census of 15–25 inpatients per team, varying by season
- Nurse Practitioners work alongside attendings in the Observation Unit
- Active 2-year Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship Program with current fellows on staff
- Division established since 2003–2004; now staffs all General Pediatric inpatient floor teams, Observation Unit, and Newborn team

Candidate Requirements
- Board eligible or certified in Pediatric Hospital Medicine
- Board eligible or certified in Pediatrics or Med-Peds (will be considered)
- Proficiency in newborn resuscitation and delivery care
- Ability to perform circumcisions and lumbar punctures
- Eligible to obtain licensure in the state of Michigan
