Why Join Us

Children's Hospital of Michigan has been a cornerstone of pediatric medicine since 1886 — Michigan's first and largest children's hospital, consistently ranked among the nation's best by U.S. News & World Report for over a decade. As a proud member of the Detroit Medical Center, this 228-bed academic facility carries an international reputation built on groundbreaking research, complex case volume, and a genuine commitment to family-centered care. This is a rare opportunity to do meaningful, high-volume work at a program with the infrastructure to match your ambition.

Why Detroit

Detroit is one of the great American comeback stories — a city redefining itself through innovation, culture, and an unmistakable sense of pride. You'll find a thriving food and arts scene, world-class museums, and major professional sports all within a compact, walkable downtown that's seen significant reinvestment over the past decade. The metro area offers excellent suburban communities with strong schools, generous square footage for the dollar, and a lower cost of living compared to most major academic medical markets. With easy access to the Great Lakes, Canada, and a robust international airport, Detroit delivers both quality of life and geographic convenience in a way that quietly surprises most newcomers.
