Why Detroit
Detroit is a city in the middle of a genuine renaissance — a place where affordable cost of living, deep cultural roots, and a surprisingly vibrant food and arts scene make it an exceptional place to build a life. The Detroit Institute of Arts, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and a world-class opera house anchor a cultural core that rivals cities twice its size, while the Detroit River corridor and the region's countless surrounding lakes offer year-round outdoor recreation. Families benefit from strong school systems and respected universities throughout the metro area, and major professional sports franchises across every major league give the community a shared civic energy that's hard to match. For physicians who want big-city culture without big-city costs, Detroit consistently overdelivers.
