Summary

The Cardiovascular Technologist in the Cath Lab performs satisfactory procedure in the Cath Lab utilizing ionizing radiation in a safe and appropriate manner. Oversees the entering of patient charges to assure accuracy and timeliness. Deals effectively and pro-actively with physicians. Work collaboratively with other members of the management team for effective patient care.


Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • College Level: Associates, Bachelors, Masters
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Associates of Applied Science in radiologic technology preferred

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or military training CVT (Preferred)
  • Current BLS/CPR (Required)
  • ACLS within 6 months of hire

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English
  • Ability to learn and integrate technical aspects of the laboratory as a whole
  • Ability to make quick and accurate decisions under stress and emergency situations
  • Ability to use computers (i.e. Microsoft Office, PAC’s systems, Order/Charge entry)

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 year approved CVT training program with associate’s degree, Or;
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Cath Lab or 3 years’ experience as a Surgical Tech
