Position Summary

Administers ionizing radiation. Operates x-ray equipment and takes diagnostic radiographs. Provides patient services utilizing diagnostic imaging modalities. Practices sterile technique when required. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of radiographic techniques, radiation protection, anatomy, positioning, medical terminology and radiographic physics. Provides services to physicians and patients with the use of the radiology information system (Radnet) and picture archiving computer system (McKesson PACS).


Position Qualifications

Minimum Education

Completion of formal radiologic training from an AMA approved school and meets requirements for registry by ARRT.

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • Texas Medical Board Certification in Medical Radiologic Technology (MRT) within 90 days of employment
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 12 months of employment.
  • BL/CPR card issued by American Heart Association (AHA) (required upon hire).

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Ability to manage several projects at one time and sort through a proper assessment of diagnosis to provide timely services to our customers.
