Responsibilities:
Completes prioritization, receipt, registration, and distribution of specimens. Has responsibility for send out/reference lab shipping, tracking, and billing. Will perform waived testing, as requested. Will assist with processing of anatomic pathology specimens including preparation of microscopic tissue slides, staining and specimen management, as requested.
 

 

Qualifications

Education:

Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Associate degree in the laboratory or medical-related field from an accredited institution

Experience:

Required: 3 years of laboratory experience
Preferred: In addition to above, basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience

Certifications:

Required: Phlebotomy certification where State law requires
 
Preferred: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar

Up to $3,000 Sign-On bonus based on experience

SUMMARY

Performs blood specimen collection, specimen receipt, and distribution of laboratory specimens; will perform CLIA waived laboratory tests, as requested. Will process anatomic pathology and cytology specimens, as requested. Assists pathologists and histotechs as needed. Will supervise or lead lab assistant I and II positions, as requested.
