Description

Summary

The nurse extern is currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing and is in the clinical rotations portion of the curriculum. The nurse extern is a member of the patient care services team with primary responsibilities for technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities. The nurse extern is assigned to work under the supervision of a registered nurse who delegates tasks based upon patient needs and nurse extern skills and abilities.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
High school diploma or GED
Enrolled in technical or vocational nursing training

Required Licenses/Certifications
Currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing and is in the clinical rotations portion of the curriculum.
Current BLS for health care providers
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge and skills.
Ability to use computer driven patient care equipment.
