Description:
SUMMARY
The nurse extern is currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing program and has entered their senior year of nursing school or has graduated from an accredited school of nursing program and is pending the board issued temporary graduate nurse permit. The nurse extern is a member of the patient care
services team with primary responsibilities for technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities. The nurse extern is assigned to work under the supervision of a registered nurse who delegates tasks based upon patient needs and nurse extern skills and abilities.
Minimum Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Enrolled in technical or vocational nursing training
Required
Licenses/Certifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing and is in their senior year
- Current BLS for health care providers
Required Skills,
Knowledge, and Abilities
- Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge and skills.
- Ability to use computer driven patient care equipment.
