Summary
The Medical Oncology Unit Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional nurse who coordinates the delivery of nursing care for medical patients throughout their hospital stay. The RN demonstrates competency in the planning of care for patients across the care continuum. He/she participates in patient and family teaching, provides leadership by working collaboratively with ancillary services and the interdisciplinary team, and maintains the highest standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. The RN advocates for patients to ensure they consistently receive high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with evidence-based practices and regulatory standards. The RN is self-motivated and pursues ongoing professional development in the area of Medical Oncology and demonstrates an aptitude for detailed work, strong organizational/time management, leadership, and customer service skills and exemplary verbal/written communication skills.
Qualifications
Education
Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Preferred: Academic degree in nursing (Bachelors or Masters degree)
Certifications
Required: Must be currently licensed, certified or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy. CPR
