Job Summary
In cases where Manager is highest level at facility, responsible for the oversight and management of the Rehabilitation Department, consisting of PT, OT, and/or Speech. Assesses, plans, and implements processes relating to patient evaluation and treatment, as required. Works with neonatal through geriatric patients with clinical competency. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates assigned patients using appropriate tools and following program protocols within established timeframes. Develops individualized treatment plan incorporating functional tasks appropriate for each patient after medical record review and patient evaluation
- Recognizes need for assistance and seeks knowledgeable individual for guidance and advice regarding patient care without incident or complaint in a timely manner. Successfully completes hospital and departmental competency requirements as defined in hospital and department guidelines.
- Demonstrates a strong knowledge and application of age- specific needs into treatment planning.
- Utilizes support personnel as outlined by regulations of the State of South Carolina and APTA
- Participates in PI monitoring on a monthly basis as assigned by supervisor according to established indicator.
- Analyzes and applies appropriate functional limitation rating during evaluations and reassessments of all Medicare patients, considering the patient’s therapy CAP limitations and educating patients as needed.
- Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications
Required:
- Education: Master's degree in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, or bachelor's degree required in a related field
- Experience: 2 years in healthcare management
- Certifications/Registrations/Licenses:
- Must have an active Phycial Therapy license in your home state and Compact Privileges in South Carolina.
- American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required, must be obtained within 7 days of hire.
Preferred:
- Education: Doctoral degree in physical therapy or master's degree in a related
