Job SummaryPosition Summary
Administers physical therapy treatments to assigned patients under supervision by a Physical Therapist (PT). Assists the PT in the implementation of a formulated treatment plan, enabling patient reach an optimum functional performance or outcome.
- Communicates with medical and allied health personnel regarding patient’s progress, needs and discharge planning. Participates in medical and nursing staff education to improve the quality of patient care.
- Integrates information, prioritizes needs and carries out a program of care for assigned patients.
- Documents patient care efficiently and effectively.
- Provides adequate discharge planning, recommends discharge to the therapist when appropriate.
- Maintains and upgrades skills in the field by retaining membership in relevant professional organizations, attending educational workshops/conferences, self-study, inservices etc.
- Achieves departmental productivity standards to ensure the availability of patient care.
- Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned
- Minimum Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an accredited program with a Certificate or Associates Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Licensure/Certifications:
- Current License as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the State of Arizona.
- CPR
- Special Skills:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively and effectively with patients, families and
- physicians.
- Preferred Requirements
- Experience: One year of experience
