JFK Memorial Hospital has provided medical care to residents in the Coachella Valley since 1966. A group of physicians, including Dr. Reynaldo Carreon, founded the hospital and today one of JFK’s cross streets is named in his honor.

Originally called Indio Community Hospital, JFK has grown to a 145-bed acute-care hospital that is part of Tenet Healthcare California. It offers a variety of services, including:

  • Emergency care 24/7
  • Orthopedic and joint replacement services using emerging technology
  • Cardiovascular services
  • Maternity care and pediatric services
  • Ambulatory surgery center
  • Imaging services
  • Outpatient Rehabilitation Center

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Clinical Quality Specialist reports directly to the Director of Clinical Quality Improvement (DCQI). The scope of duties is shared between other Quality personnel as determined by the Quality Manager and DCQI. This position's primary responsibility is to facilitate and coordinate the Medical Staff Quality Review Program, while performing clinical quality of care reviews for patients seen at JFK Memorial Hospital. Additional responsibilities will include hospital wide clinical performance improvement project management, conduct intense analysis when indicated and quality and regulatory support as determined by the DCQI. The Clinical Quality Specialist will participate in hospital and medical staff committee's as assigned and will must demonstrate personal and professional responsibility, participates in creating an atmosphere of mutual trust, acceptance, recognition and respect, and assumes responsibility for own professional development.

Qualifications

Required:

  1. Current license as Registered Nurse in the State of California or other health related field;
  2. Five (5) years experience in an acute care facility
  3. Two (2) years experience in performance improvement/quality duties performing clinical quality of care reviews
  4. Possess excellent organizational and analytical skills
  5. Possess ability to plan, organize and integrate complex and inter-departmental program

Preferred:

  1. Knowledge and experience of Quality Management Tools
  2. Knowledge of Core Measure abstraction process and guidelines
  3. Knowledgeable in use of computers and specific software including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access

Pay Range: $38.94 - $60.36 hourly **Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
