JFK Memorial Hospital has provided medical care to residents in the Coachella Valley since 1966. A group of physicians, including Dr. Reynaldo Carreon, founded the hospital and today one of JFK’s cross streets is named in his honor.
Originally called Indio Community Hospital, JFK has grown to a 145-bed acute-care hospital that is part of Tenet Healthcare California. It offers a variety of services, including:

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Quality Improvement (DCQI), the Quality Administrative Coordinator (QAC) is responsible to coordinate the administrative needs of the Quality Management department's day-to-day activities and is a supportive role to the DCQI. In addition, the QAC is a task oriented position and must have the ability to work at a fast pace, complete assigned tasks while meeting deadlines and prioritize multiple assignments/projects while participating in hospital and Tenet initiatives as it pertains to risk management and patient safety. The role requires knowledge in coordinating and responding to patient complaints/grievances, risk management functions, managing hospital incident reports and identifying serious reportable events per State, Hospital and Tenet policy.

Key function areas include but are not limited to:
- Prepares letters to patients in a timely manner.
- Follows the policy regarding Grievances and Complaints.
- Gathers information from Department Directors/Mangers when a complaint/grievance is received in a timely manner.
- Works professionally and provides timely information to the Hospital attorneys.
- Schedules meetings and depositions with the hospital attorneys and staff.
Quality Council Patient Safety Committee (QCPSC) and all Hospital Committee preparation of agenda, Minutes and Reports:
- Sends out meeting notices and reporting schedulers to members of the committee in a timely manner in order to achieve the mandated time frames of receiving all information.
- Committee minutes are accurate and reflect the meeting discussion.
- Minutes, agenda and packet is completed in a timely manner prior to the meeting.
- Responsible for preparing agendas and minutes for the following hospital committees: QCPS, TJC Regulatory Chapters and Steering Committee, Readmission Committee, Code Blue Committee, Critical Care Committee, MERP, Antibiotic Stewardship Committee, Reduction of Hospital Acquired Infection Committee, Cath Conference, Sepsis Committee, and Stroke Task Force meetings.
Support to DCQI, Quality Staff and Directors:
- Provides training to all directors on the occurrence reporting system.
- Readily available and willing to assist with Local, State, Federal and The Joint Commission surveys logistics.
- Supports the Risk Managers with all risk management activities.
- Prepares CDPH Plan-of-Corrections in the correct format, gathers appropriate signatures and faxes and/or mails the information in a timely manner.
- Revises/Maintains policies.
- Creates education flyers, posters and brochers as needed to deploy information to staff.
Quality Managements department's day-t-day activities support:
- Orders all office supplies.
- Greets all guests and visitors to the Quality Department.
- Schedules the QM conference room.
- Prepares meeting rooms for webinars and/or conference calls.
- EasyID form creations and revisions for all departments.
- Edits Krono's for effective time keeping.
Risk Management functions:
- Managing the Occurrence Reporting System (eSRM).
- Works with Tenet for any potential litigation management.
- Identification of potential risk/loss via the eSRM system.
- Manages, investigates and responds to hospital related complaints and grievances.
- Processing and reporting incidents that fall under the the federal regulation known as Adverse Event Reporting and the Safe Medical Device Act.
- Provide information and statistics regarding risk management and patient complaint/grievance issues and process.
- Assists in preparing reported to Quality Council/Patient Safety; Medical Executive Committee and Governing Board.
- Assists DCQI in education of employees in reporting events into eSRM.
- Develops "Lessons Learned" topics for employees for culture of patient safety.
- Assists DCQI in conducting Root Cause Analysis, Intense Analysis, Proactive Risk Assessments as indicated.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to read and write.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3-5 years experience in office management.
- One-year hospital QM/RM experience preferred.
- Excellent computer skills including data base management, Microsoft office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Pay Range: $23.00 - $33.71 hourly **Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
