Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

The RN provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process. The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided. Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime. Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy. Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster. Responsible for knowing the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.     

Qualifications

Education:

Required: Graduated from a state approved school of nursing or an accredited school.
Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing

Experience:

Preferred: Recent acute care experience.

Certifications:

Required: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; CPR. AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.

JFK Memorial Hospital has provided medical care to residents in the Coachella Valley since 1966. A group of physicians, including Dr. Reynaldo Carreon, founded the hospital and today one of JFK’s cross streets is named in his honor.

Originally called Indio Community Hospital, JFK has grown to a 145-bed acute-care hospital that is part of Tenet Healthcare California. It offers a variety of services, including:

•Maternity care and pediatric services
•Ambulatory surgery center
•Imaging services

Position Overview:

  • The professional nurse RN II in the Operating Room uses the nursing process to plan, implement, evaluate and document patient care of the patient undergoing anesthesia and/or surgery.
  • The RN II considers the patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, language barriers, age, teaching needs, and readiness to learn.
  • The RN II provides care and education based upon the following parameters: involves the interdisciplinary team in the plan of care and patient intervention, uses an autonomous practice, and demonstrates competence in OR routines, techniques, and established protocols.
  • The RN II independently anticipates professional responsibilities and accepts accountability for professional action and uses critical thinking skills in daily practice.
  • The RN II uses effective verbal and written skills to communicate with people on all levels and is able to maintain positive working relationships with patients, families, co-workers, and physicians and participates in departmental Performance Improvement activities and monitoring as requested.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse II PACU Qualifications:

Education

  • California RN License
  • Successful mastery of nursing skills and knowledge related to a RN II position
  • CPR
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Basic EKG Course (within six (6) months of employment)

Pay range: $46.14 - $74.03

Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.
