JFK Memorial Hospital has provided medical care to residents in the Coachella Valley since 1966. A group of physicians, including Dr. Reynaldo Carreon, founded the hospital and today one of JFK’s cross streets is named in his honor.

Originally called Indio Community Hospital, JFK has grown to a 145-bed acute-care hospital that is part of Tenet Healthcare California. It offers a variety of services, including:

  • Emergency care 24/7
  • Orthopedic and joint replacement services using emerging technology
  • Cardiovascular service
  • Maternity care and pediatric services
  • Ambulatory surgery center
  • Imaging services
  • Outpatient Rehabilitation Center

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Screenings and assessments of patients working collaboratively with Case Management to facilitate optimal discharge. Grief work and supportive therapy with patient and family regarding end-of-life decisions and critical illness. Function as a resource and referral service to patients and families. Coordination with outside agencies including but not limited to, APC/CPS and psychiatric services. Monday through Friday non-exempt position with weekend call rotation. Assist with supervision of Social Service interns as requested. Participates in community meetings/associations where social service presence is required. Will be certified by Riverside County as designated 5150 evaluator at JFK Memorial Hospital.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. M.S.W. and current License as Clinical Social Worker in State of California

2. CPR

3. Two (2) years experience in an Acute Care Hospital

4. Familiarity with psychiatric presentations and mental health services including 5150 criteria and process

5. Good communication skills and ability to work with others

6. Knowledge of local community resources and procedures for access

7. Spanish speaking preferred

Pay Range: $29.27 - $39.34 hourly **Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
