Description

Walker Baptist Medical Center: Located in Jasper, this facility is equipped with 267 beds and specializes in cardiology; orthopedics, including rehabilitation; psychiatric care; urology; and detox therapy.

Under direct supervision of Sterile Processing Technician performs activities including, but not limited to: decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation including various software applications, assembly and delivery of surgical and interventional procedure case carts, paring and replenishment of materials, and working in collaboration with surgical partners to provide accurate and complete surgical instrumentation and needed supplies. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Attends all mandatory education and training programs (including department specific) and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety and regulatory compliance as well as department safety and specific job-related hazards.
  • Maintains all required CEUs for certifications and licensure.
  • Follows the hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.
  • Attire is professional, neat, clean, and appropriate for the work environment, according to the BHS and/or Department Appearance Policy and a high standard of personal cleanliness is maintained.
  • Reports to work on time and meets acceptable standard for attendance, based upon the department attendance policy.
