At Hi-Desert Medical Center (HDMC) we've been caring for our community for over 40 years. Our Continuing Care Center (CCC), located on the campus of HDMC, provides specialized care to residents close to their own communities, with spectacular panoramic views of desert landscapes for both residents and their guests

The Continuing Care Center has 120 beds and offers three distinct levels of service in semi-private rooms:

Subacute care: This is the highest level of care available in our long-term care setting. The CCC provides 25 beds dedicated to residents with ventilator and tracheostomy requirements. Clinical staff is specially trained to meet the unique needs of these patients. The CCC is one of the few facilities in Southern California providing this level of care.

Skilled nursing care: We provide long-term skilled nursing care to residents who require assistance with personal and medical needs. Care is provided to our patients who require rehabilitative therapies, wound care or recovery from accidents or invasive procedures.

Long-Term Care: We provide long-term care to residents who require assistance with personal and medical needs.


Position Summary

Performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, hallways, and other assigned areas of the hospital.

Primary Duties : 

1. Dusts furniture, woodwork, and equipment and dust mops floors. Polishes and cleans fixtures in utility rooms and  bathrooms.
2. Operates  vacuums.
3. Wet mops rooms, halls, stairways and public areas.
4. Cleans vents, fans and other equipment using the vacuum machines.
5. Cleans fixtures, tops or windows, door frames and high areas using a ladder.
6. Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials.
7. Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required.
8. Removes waste, soiled linens and Biowaste from work area and places in specific bags or containers.
9. Performs terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares rooms for new occupant; follows isolation  procedures in isolation rooms.
10. Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls of bathrooms.
11. Employee wears ID badge while at work.
12. Adheres to assigned breaks and lunch times.
13. Cleans patient rooms following the seven (7) step procedures.
14. Follows designated Duty list.
15. Checks E-Mail daily for additional assigned tasks.
16. Log into computers to check in and out of cleaning rooms.

Qualifications

Physical demands:

  • Prolonged and extensive walking, standing 
  • Lift supplies/equipment
  • Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 pounds)
  • Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching

Working Conditions:

  • Exposed to housekeeping/cleaning agents/chemicals
  • Works in precarious or high locations
  • Handling Bio Waste

Education

Required: High School graduate, GED with ability to read, write and understand the English language.

Experience

Required: 2 years work in environmentalservices in lieu of education. Prior cleaning experience. 2 years of experience in hospitality or healthcare setting. May substitute domestic experience.

Pay Range: $23.00 - $23.00 hourly **Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
