At Hi-Desert Medical Center (HDMC) we've been caring for our community for over 40 years. Our Continuing Care Center (CCC), located on the campus of HDMC, provides specialized care to residents close to their own communities, with spectacular panoramic views of desert landscapes for both residents and their guests

The Continuing Care Center has 120 beds and offers three distinct levels of service in semi-private rooms:

Subacute care: This is the highest level of care available in our long-term care setting. The CCC provides 25 beds dedicated to residents with ventilator and tracheostomy requirements. Clinical staff is specially trained to meet the unique needs of these patients. The CCC is one of the few facilities in Southern California providing this level of care.

Skilled nursing care: We provide long-term skilled nursing care to residents who require assistance with personal and medical needs. Care is provided to our patients who require rehabilitative therapies, wound care or recovery from accidents or invasive procedures.

Long-Term Care: We provide long-term care to residents who require assistance with personal and medical needs.

Position Summary
Assists with washing and finishing functions of the Laundry Department as assigned. Distributes clean linens to user departments and maintains stock levels in all.

Primary Duties  
    1. Loads and unloads washing machines and dryers. (CCC only)                                                   
    2. Assists in care and maintenance of department facilities, equipment and supplies.                      
    3. Checks floor linen supplies and lists linen usage by department.      
4. Delivers linen to user departments according to pre-established par levels and schedules. Distributes emergency supplies as needed.

5. Keeps records of linen distribution by department. Turns monthly reports to Director of Environmental Services.

6. Keeps linen room neat and orderly; cleans delivery equipment and assists with other cleaning duties in laundry/linen
   department. Clean Linen Rooms will be locked while unattended.                            
    
7.  Orders from Linen CO, receives and checks delivery from linen service to insure accurate and quality products, 95% 
    of the time. Performance will be measured by observation and reports from other departments.

8. Checks linen service soiled count reports, revises as necessary and forwards to Director of Environmental Services, 
    twice weekly, 99% of the time. Performance will be measured by observation.

 

Qualifications

Physical demands: 
•    Lift supplies/equipment
•    Moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 pounds)
•    Considerable stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching

Working Conditions:
•    Exposed to hot or noisy equipment
•    Exposed to hazards of steam and heat
•    May be exposed to infectious disease

Minimum Education/Certification:
•    High School graduate
