At Hi-Desert Medical Center (HDMC) we've been caring for our community for over 40 years. Our Continuing Care Center (CCC), located on the campus of HDMC, provides specialized care to residents close to their own communities, with spectacular panoramic views of desert landscapes for both residents and their guests

The Continuing Care Center has 120 beds and offers three distinct levels of service in semi-private rooms:

Subacute care: This is the highest level of care available in our long-term care setting. The CCC provides 25 beds dedicated to residents with ventilator and tracheostomy requirements. Clinical staff is specially trained to meet the unique needs of these patients. The CCC is one of the few facilities in Southern California providing this level of care.

Skilled nursing care: We provide long-term skilled nursing care to residents who require assistance with personal and medical needs. Care is provided to our patients who require rehabilitative therapies, wound care or recovery from accidents or invasive procedures.

Long-Term Care: We provide long-term care to residents who require assistance with personal and medical needs.

Position Summary:

In collaboration with nursing leadership, the Staff Development Coordinator provides orientation and facilitates in services for staff in compliance with Title 22 requirements. This position reports to the Director of Nursing. Conducts routine audits and works with Quality Management to ensure compliance with Quality measures. Coordinates training for staff to address audit results and ensure documentation is accurate and complete.

Primary Duties 
1. Provides Orientation to all new staff, travelers, or others as required. 
2. Provide or coordinates in-services for staff in compliance with Title 22 requirements. A minimum of 24 hours of 
C.N.A. in-services per month. 
3. Conducts audits on resident charts and provides follow up reports to Director of Nursing to ensure timely 
correction and completion of charting by staff.
4. Attends Quality meetings and ensures CCC is in alignment with all Quality Measures.
5. Collects data for Infection Control reports and ensures training and in-services directly correspond to findings.
6. Other Duties as assigned.

Physical demands: 
- Prolonged standing/walking
- Frequent reaching, stooping, bending
- Frequent computer use
- Occasional kneeling and crouching
- Occasional physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 pounds)
Working Conditions:
-May be exposed to bodily fluids and waste
- Exposure to blood borne pathogens and infectious diseases
- Regular contact with residents/visitors/family members
Minimum Education/Certification/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in acute or post-acute care
- California RN required
- DSD certification required or should qualify within 14 days of being offered position
- Bachelor’s Degree preferre

Pay Range: $40.89- $63.37 **Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience ***Calculated based on a full time position
