Shift: Days 7:00am to 3:30pm

The Staffing Coordinator facilitates the daily allocation of nursing personnel, utilizing general staffing guidelines (as approved by Nursing Directors) and knowledge of personnel’s skill level. The position coordinates additional activities centrally located in the Nursing Office and promotes and maintains a professional image through contact with the public.
Responsibilities
- Allocates personnel with House Supervisor consultation based on unit need, staffing guidelines, and union contracts.
- Obtains daily staff requests.
- Coordinates staffing to meet organization’s requirements.
- Monitors overtime accumulation and tracks attendance.
- Conducts compliance audits on files of float pool and all contract staff to assure accuracy.
- Maintains schedules and schedule accuracy.
- Processes employee vacation requests after they have been approved.
- Monitors and maintains information on staff qualifications and areas of expertise.
- Problem solves scheduling conflicts.
- Schedules orientation of new hires/contract staff.
- Maintains tracking of mandatory education.
- Maintains daily staffing reports and updates OptiLink
- Assists in maintaining files.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Computer experience – ability to work in multiple systems concurrently
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to present self in positive and professional manner
- Prioritization and organizational skills
- Ability to read and understand written English
- Ability to communicate with others via telephone
- Ability to complete detailed work and complex scheduling requirements with minimal errors
Preferred:
- 1-3 years working in hospital setting with staffing
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
