Qualifications

Education: A.S. or equivalent

Training: Previous Medical Staff Office experience preferred

Licenses / Certifications: CPMSM (Certified Professional in Medical Services Management) preferred.

Experience Preferred: 3+ years

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

· Ability to serve as a role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing.

· Excellent knowledge and experience required to facilitate department employees in evaluation, coordination, and completion of work.

· Highly effective interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.

· Proven leadership ability and hospital operational ability.

· Excellent problem solving, listening and language skills are necessary.

· Must be fluent in spoken and written English with proficient writing.

· Effective management of department budgets.

· Proficient computer skills in programs such as word processing and spreadsheets.

· Working knowledge of applicable regulations and Joint Commission standards.

· Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Position Summary:

Responsible for management, planning, organizing and directing all functions of the Medical Staff Office (MSO) to contribute to meeting the mission, vision, values and strategic plan of Doctors Hospital of Manteca as well as meeting the requirements of the Medical Staff Bylaws, The Joint Commission standards and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and/or accrediting agencies. Is responsible for the medical-administrative and Medico-legal aspects for the Medical Staff organization. Coordinates Medical Staff activities and acts as a liaison between the Medical Staff and Administration. Prepares and maintains accurate documentation of Medical Staff and credentialing activities. The Director prepares agendas, participates in, and takes minutes as needed, for all meetings such as: MEC, Credentials, Quality & Patient Safety, Infection Prevention, Pharmacy & Therapeutics, and Departments of Medicine, Surgery, and Women & Children’s Services. The MSO monitors the flow of information from medical staff committees through the MEC and the Governing Board, also ensuring that all policies and procedures are current and reviewed periodically in accordance with DHM policy. Performs other duties as assigned. Revisions to the job description, accountabilities, and measures may be required due to patient care needs and/or efficient operation of the Medical Center. You will be advised in writing of any changes. It is also understood that the job description is not all-inclusive and you may be required to perform other related duties.

Pay Range: $97,760 - $151,840 **Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience ***Calculated based on a full time position
