Qualifications:
- Master's degree (MA/MS) in speech-language pathology/communication disorders
- 1 - 2 years experience required
- California state license in Speech
- Healthcare Provider BLS
- Preferred ASHA Certification
- Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Must be fluent in spoken and written English. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Position Summary:
Responsible for administration and direct application of Speech/Language Pathology treatment modalities as prescribed by a referring physician. Evaluates plans, directs and treats all patients referred to speech/language.
- The incumbent provides pathology treatments to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury. Assists patients to obtain maximum performance and function in society while learning to live a routine “normal” life within the constraints of their disability.
- Participates in performance improvement activities within the department and participates in C2Q activities. The incumbent also assures personal competency.
- Provides information related to departmental budget considerations in relationship to Speech Pathology needs for optimum patient care and service.
- The incumbent assists in scheduling of patient visits for speech pathology evaluation and treatment.
- The incumbent also performs some administrative duties at the delegation of the Chief Nursing Officer participates in infection control, safety and educational programs, both in the department and on an organizational basis.
- The incumbent staff member also demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.
- The individual demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient population served. He or she must be able to assess and interpret data about patient’s status in order to identify each patient’s needs and provide the appropriate care, including age-related care, needed by the specific patient group.
Pay Range: $42.93 - $66.52 hourly **Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
