- Observes cardiac monitor for abnormal heart rhythms, rates and pattern changes.
- Performs long range assessment and review of cardiac arrhythmias.
- Documents EKG rhythm every eight hours and documents rhythm changes as they occur with correct interpretation.
- Accurately enters patient data into the telemetry monitors, initiates patient record and notifies appropriate personnel within defined time lines.
- Ensures appropriate department, within defined timelines and in accordance with policy, receives medical records.
- Performs related duties as required.
Responsible for the set up of telemetry on physician orders by ensuring proper placement of electrodes, running strips, and replacing batteries as needed. Performs general clerical duties by preparing, compiling and maintaining records in a hospital nursing unit. Maintains current and orderly chart files. Answers telephone; records and relays messages. Prepares routine, confidential, and/or special reports, documents, and records; assist with quality improvement activities.

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience:
- Successful completion of EKG class
- Familiar with Medical Terminology
