Job Summary
Performs phlebotomy duties and routine technical and clerical functions. Performs venipuncture, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens; will perform CLIA waived laboratory tests, as requested.
Responsibilities
Performs routine technical and clerical functions to include specimen registration and billing. Performs specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens. Performs phlebotomy duties as assigned. Will perform waived testing, and assist in microbiology processing and plating specimens, as requested.
Qualifications
This role a Phlebotomist contract with Tenet's in-house contingent Pool, Trusted Resource Associates. Work directly with Tenet on a Travel Contract, Local Contract or PRN. With this in-house assignment you will be part of the contingent workforce pool, yet, a W-2 Tenet employee direct with Tenet’s health system providing you with preferred contracts and contract security.

Description:
The Certified Phlebotomist is responsible for performing phlebotomy procedures on patients of all age groups using a variety of different techniques. Experience performing CLIA waived laboratory testing and hospital bedside testing required. The Certified Phlebotomist must be able to demonstrate skill and knowledge in order to obtain the best possible samples for the testing as required for the care and treatment of the patients. This includes correct patient identification, sample collection, labeling and processing of all samples. S/he must also have the ability to interface with patient, family members, physicians and other professionals as related to their duties in a professional manner.
Requirements:
- BLS and National Phlebotomy Certification through ASCP, ANP or ASPT
- Must have 2 years experience performing Phlebotomy procedures in a hospital setting

Salary: The wage for this local contract assignment is currently $35 an hour for local contracts. These are contracted rate positions where the wage is determined at the time of posting and can occasionally experience market fluctuations causing the actual wage to vary slightly.
