Unit Secretary Emergency Room PRN Days Position Summary
Performs general clerical duties on a nursing unit by preparing, compiling, and maintaining records in a hospital nursing unit. Integral part of the nursing team that acts as receptionist, performs clerical and secretarial duties, and is a liaison between patients, visitors, physicians, ancillary departments, and nursing staff. Bartlett Unit Secretaries may act as Nurse Assistant and must have the required certifications necessary for their department.
Education: High school Graduate or GED.
Experience Required: Must be familiar with medical terminology, and have experience with the use of a computer.
Preferred: Previous experience as a Unit Secretary preferred.
Professional Requirement: 25 wpm typing with no more than 5 errors, basic computer knowledge
Certifications:
CPR is required for all Unit Secretaries.
Bartlett Unit Secretaries in the Emergency Dept. and Float Pool must also have CPI.
Memphis Behavioral Health Unit Secretaries must also have CPI.
