Job Summary
Reporting to the Supervisor, the Technician performs routine and assigned in the Central Distribution department involving the inventory and distribution of supplies and equipment. Collects and keys in patient charges for supplies and equipment. Monitors equipment daily. Assists in inventory control and counts. Maintains the cleanliness of the Central Distribution area and Par carts.
ResponsibilitiesPosition Accountabilities
1.Inventory Floor Carts/Restocking Floor Carts/Maintaining Floor Carts:
- Responsible for inventory and restocking of floor carts.
- Performs inventory on each cart using the pre-printed cart form and following the par levels printed on that form.
- Keys in cart form using IMMS system.
- Prints pick list and pulls supplies needed from storeroom using the pick list.
- Delivers supplies to the appropriate cart and neatly restocks the cart.
- Returns excess supplies from carts to Distribution for credit.
- Fills out credit slip and puts supplies on storeroom shelves.
- Ensures that PAR carts are kept clean and organized.
2. Patient Charging:
- Keys in all patient charges picked up from nursing floors daily, according to service date.
- Responsible for charges being completed before the end of the shift.
3. Access to Pharmaceutical Supplies and Secure Storage areas- Medication access will be restricted to those medications and supplies that a Central Distribution technician must access in order to perform their assigned duties.
4.Inventory Control/Organization and Cleanliness of the Distribution Department:
- Responsible for inventory control, organization and cleanliness of the Distribution Department.
- Makes weekly checks of item labels to ensure label is correct.
- Informs Purchasing of stock items that are low or out of stock.
- Routinely rotates stock to ensure oldest dated supplies are issued first.
- Check shelves to ensure stock is in proper location.
- Participates in weekly cycle counts and counts accurately.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Ensures that box lids are cut off, that empty boxes are removed and trash is taken out.
- Maintains a clean and organized equipment room, ensuring that IV pumps and feeding pumps are plugged in.
5. Set Up of C/D Prepared trays and Kits:
- Sets up Central Distribution prepared trays and kits.
- Assembles trays and kits accurately, according to recipe and procedure.
6. All other duties as assigned: Completes work duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
QualificationsMinimum Education:
- High School graduate preferred.
Minimum Experience/Skills:
- 1 year Central Supply or materials/distribution experience
License/Certificates/Credentials:
- None

- Moderate sitting/standing/walking
- Lift/position up to 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 50 lbs of force.
