Position Summary:
Reporting to the Group Chief Nursing Officer with a matrix reporting relationship to the other Chief Nursing Officers in the Market, the Director of Professional Development and Education (PD&E) is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the functions of the Professional Development & Education Department, TB Mask Fit Testing and Library across the Central Valley Market. These responsibilities include education and training program support for ancillary departments and the total education program for the Nursing Division - orientation, in-service, continuing education and consultation, HealthStream administration, Staff required certifications (BLS, ACLS, TNCC, NRP, PALS, etc.), new products training, critical care internship program, ETP Grant administration, oversight of TB Mask Fit testing annual compliance and coordination of Library support and Medical Staff publication requirements. Programs are based on needs assessment information collected from a variety of resources (see Section I, E). The Director oversees the activities of the Professional Development Educators, and requires a broad knowledge of clinical and administrative requirements, Board of Register Nurses (BRN) guidelines and accreditation/licensure standards. Provides educational oversight for all standards/regulations in regards to TJC, CMS, CDPH, and DHEC. Responsibility for budget and managing staff. Serves as a resouce person and liaison for facility associates and the community.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree. Master of Science in Nursing preferred.
Minimum Experience/Skills:
- Computer/PC literate (word-processing, graphics)
- Experience utilizing a simulator for training preferred.
- 5 years of related experience, minimum 1 year experience in teaching in clinical and/or classroom setting, and 2+ years of nursing experience in an acute care setting.
License/Certificates/Credentials: Current Registered Nursing license for the state of California. BLS; ACLS. BLS, ACLS, PALS instructor preferred. Advanced certification in specialty field and/or participation in professional organization(s) preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Lifts, positions, pushes up to 40 lbs.
- Moderate standing, walking, reaching, stooping, and bending
- Manual dexterity, mobility, touch, auditory to perform all the related duties of the position
- Adequate vocal pitch and volume
Vision Requirements: Sufficient perceptive acuity (vision and hearing) to perform all the related duties of the position.
Working Conditions:
- Subject to irregular hours based on the demands of the job
- Moderate pressure due to multiple calls, inquiries, and time demands
- Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
- Occasional exposure to risk of contagious and blood borne diseases
- Occasional exposure to unpleasant elements

Pay Range: $141,440 - $226,720 **Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience ***Calculated based on a full time position
