Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs imaging studies with the use of the spiral computed tomography technique. Prepares and administers contrast media and medication in accordance with state and federal regulations.
2503032633Responsibilities:
• Consults appropriate medical personnel to determine a modified action plan when necessary.
• Determines the needs for accessory equipment.
• Selects various power-up techniques as appropriate, including routine, nonroutine, and fast activation.
• Evaluates lab values prior to administering contrast media and beginning interventional procedures.
• Selects appropriate shielding devices.
• Selects appropriate patient immobilization devices.
• Reviews the patient’s chart and the physician’s request to determine optimal imaging procedure for suspected pathology.
• Determines appropriate type and dose of contrast agent to be administered, based on the patient’s age, weight, and medical / physical status.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education: Associate Degree in Radiology Technology/or Certificate Program in Radiologic Technology
Minimum Experience: 1 year RT experience in diagnostic studies
Required Certification: BLS
Required Licensure: TDH and ARRT with CT certification
