POSITION SUMMARY
This per diem BHS Associate Staff Chaplain is responsible for the provision of professional spiritual care to patients families and staff at various Baptist Health System Hospitals. This chaplain will join the system's Mission & Ministry Pastoral Care team. This chaplain will participate in pastoral/spiritual care in partnership with the Directors of Pastoral Care, staff chaplains, CPE residents and interns, fellow PRN chaplains and pastoral care volunteers. The per diem Chaplain is responsible for the provision of professional spiritual care to meet the needs of patients, families, and staff regardless of age, race, gender, ethnicity, or religious preference. The Chaplain serves alongside interdisciplinary health care colleagues to create holistic care community to provide whole person care within the facilities they serve; and completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited college or university. One Unit of certified Clinical Pastoral Education through ACPE, Inc., or NACC.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Master of Divinity degree from an accredited theological school. One year residency from an accredited ACPE center.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Pastoral and/or chaplaincy experience of one year.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Pastoral and/or chaplaincy experience of two (2) years. Bilingual (Spanish/English).
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Ecclesiastical endorsement or recommendation by local faith congregation.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Certification (BCC) by the Association of Professional Chaplains or an affiliate cognate group.
