Health Info Tech II Full Time Days Position Summary
Analysis, Indexing, Suspension, Physician Liaison, Birth Certificate, Release of Information, Transcription Support and other department support
Responsibilities
Retrieves medical records from Patient Care areas, organizes and processes for document imaging
Meets or exceeds hourly departmental productivity standard for preparing, prepping and scanning discharge patient medical records
Reconciles all patient type records against discharge lists and takes appropriate and timely action to retrieve all discharged patient records
Reviews and analyzes medical records for completeness as required by Regulatory agencies
Compiling and processing birth certificates, Acknowledgement of Paternity timely and accurately for submission to the Department of Health
Assists external and internal customers including hospital departments and physicians as well as their office staff
Generates reports and maintains databases for communication with the medical staff regarding the deficiency management system as well as adherence to the medical staff medical records suspension policy
Answers the phone and provides customer service in a timely and professional manner
Assists physicians with chart completion in a timely and professional manner
Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
Maintains safe environment
Participates in Performance Improvement activities
Special Skills: Must have basic computer skills and knowledge. Must have good organizational skills. Must be self-motivated to complete work in a timely manner. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
THE HEALTH INFO TECH II FULL TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
Required: None Required
EDUCATION
Required: High School graduate or equivalent
Preferred: RHIT
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required: 1+ years HIM experience or related field
SKILLS
Must have basic computer skills and knowledge. Must have good organizational skills. Must be self-motivated to complete work in a timely manner. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
