Job Summary
The Medical Staff Department Secretary reports to the Director of Medical Staff Services, and provides support to the Director and the Medical Staff.

Responsibilities
- Answer incoming phone calls, distribute incoming mail, process physician verifications hospital affiliations, maintain accurate filing system, maintain office supplies – ordering/receiving, and assist medical staff manager/director. Distribute monthly meeting notices and copy packets/materials for meetings
- Maintain the licensure expirables and monthly reports.
- Duties as assigned • Photocopy approved privileges for distribution in privilege binders and keep binders accurate
- Assist Credentials Coordinator prepare credential binders for new applicants
- Assist in preparing outgoing mailings
- Assist medical staff coordinators in preparing for meetings, i.e. Photocopying and distributing packets
- Enter attendance following each CME program•
- Updates Echo, credentialing software program to insure information is accurate at all times•
- Manages Governing Board follow-up, letters, updating Echo, privilege sheets
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience in a Medical Staff Office preferred.
- Strong written /English communication skills, word processing (Windows), dictation, medical terminology Excellent customer relations skills.
- Ability to work independently,
- use good judgment and maintain confidentiality.
- Previous secretarial experience required.
- High School Graduate or GED
Must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
