Description
GENERAL DUTIES:
Schedules appointments for patients to be seen in the Cardiology Clinic. Prepares daily schedule for admitting. Prepares patient charts. Acts as a liaison between physician offices and the CC. Enters charges into the Cerner system. Maintains and files patient medical records. Access to demographic information and limited Patient Health Information related to job function.

Responsibilities:
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC DUTIES:
· Obtains information and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs.
· Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development.
· Responds to physician offices to meet patient scheduling needs for the clinic.
· Maintains daily schedule accurately.
· Provides admitting representative with next days appointment schedule by 10AM.
· Maintains chart supplies.
· Prepares chart prior to patients scheduled appointment time.
· Files lab reports and maintains charts accurately.
· Enters all patient charges into the Cerner System daily.
· Audits charges for completeness and accuracy.
· Promotes the image of the clinic with positive communication with referring physician offices.
Qualifications
Required:
· High School Diploma or GED
· One year experience in a medical setting. Experienced in working with the public and has strong interpersonal skills. Has the ability to multitask. Has knowledge of medical terminology.
· Posses good telephone etiquette. Has strong computer skills.
