Position Highlights
• Employed Surgical Oncologist position with the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Desert Regional Medical Center
• Growth opportunity within an established cancer program and expanding market
• Practice located on the hospital campus for convenient access to surgical and oncology resources
• Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Balanced 50/50 split between outpatient clinic and procedural/operative responsibilities
• Dedicated focus on surgical oncology patients within a multidisciplinary cancer care environment
• Approximately 10 new referrals per week with significant growth potential
• Call responsibilities limited to management of your own patients
• Collaborative multidisciplinary support team available to providers
• Hospital privileges at Desert Regional Medical Center
• Opportunity to mentor and interact with general surgery residents who may shadow the practice
• Residents and fellows encouraged to apply
• Ideal start date approximately 90 days following signed agreement

Candidate Requirements
• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified in General Surgery or Surgical Oncology, or Board Eligible if newly trained
• Fellowship training in Surgical Oncology required
• Eligible for California medical licensure
• Strong commitment to multidisciplinary cancer care
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills

Desert Care Network serves the healthcare needs of the Coachella Valley and Morongo Basin regions in Southern California with three hospitals Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio and Hi-Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree. The hospital network provides advanced care with services such as comprehensive stroke care, a cancer center, a Level 1 Trauma Center and the only Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the Coachella Valley.
