Job Summary
Position repairs, maintains, calibrates and safety-tests basic clinical, communications and laboratory equipment. Ensures the safe condition of
electrically powered equipment through testing and inspection. Verifies the accurate operation of basic equipment and maintains accurate records
of all repair/maintenance activities. Provides limited specialized technical support to customers. Mentors and trains Biomedical Technicians.
Provides and documents, preventive and corrective maintenance on biomedical equipment. Position repairs, maintains, calibrates and safety-tests
basic clinical, communications and laboratory equipment. Ensures the safe condition of electrically powered equipment through testing and
inspection. Verifies the accurate operation of basic equipment and maintains accurate records of all repair/maintenance activities. Provides limited
specialized technical support to customers.
Responsibilities
- Performs preventive maintenance on medical equipment. Corrective maintenance will be done at component
level as directed. - Assists in performing clinical and electronic equipment installations and construction of test or electronic
devices. - Evaluates clinical equipment per manager's request and departmental needs and become with the operation of
the equipment - Performs repairs on medical equipment and testing on all new and repaired systems on units within this
departments responsibility. - Maintains records of all assigned equipment
- Performs scheduled inspection of the preventive maintenance variety and completes electrial safety testing of
assigned equipment to insure code compliance - Responsible for documenting the results of any and all inspections, maintenance and tests
- Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- SPECIAL SKILLS: Advanced computer skills. Knowledge of physiological wave forms.
- Minimum Requirements
- Experience: Three years related experience
- Education: Two or more years of post high school education as offered by technical school/ junior college or equivalent on-the-job
training
- Preferred Requirements
- Certifications: Certification as Biomedical Equipment Technician.
