Job Summary
Provides clinical nutrition support services to patients through Food Service. Monitors nutritional care, manages physician ordered therapeutic
diets and provides nutritional education to patients. Directs, supervises and coordinates diet office activities. Processes information generated
from patient, medical records, nursing and ancillary staff for utilization in the accurate identification, assessment and evaluation of the patient’s
nutritional needs.
Responsibilities
- Accurately processes information generated from patient, medical records, nursing and ancillary staff.
- Correctly utilizes generated information in the identification, assessment and evaluation of the patient’s nutritional needs following ADA standards to meet the patient's nutritional requirements.
- Makes recommendations to physicians, and health care team regarding the patient’s nutritional status.
- Provides education to patient and family members.
- Develops nutritional care policies and procedures.
- Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Education: B.S. degree from an accredited college or university with a major in food, nutrition,or institutional management and any additional education as required by the American Dietetic Association
- Certifications: Registered or Registration eligible with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. Must obtain registration within 6 months.
