Ultrasound Lead Technologist Full Time Days Position Summary

Working Lead, coordinates scheduling and efforts of the Ultrasound Techs. Mentors and trains staff. Position coordinates with other departments the day-to-day activity for routine, portable and invasive patient procedures. Works with the Director of Radiology, the Radiologists and other personnel to supervise and perform technical procedures in General and Vascular Ultrasound.

Special Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills necessary to understand oral and written instructions stated in radiological and medical terms and to exchange information with patients and staff. Problem solving skills.

SUPERVISES: Functional supervision may be exercised over cross-training technologists and/or students.

ULTRASOUND LEAD TECHNOLOGIST FULL TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Completion of formal ultrasound technology training which meets requirements for certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Three years Ultrasound and Vascular experience with demonstrated leadership skills.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Five years Ultrasound and Vascular hospital experience with demonstrated leadership skills.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Must be registered within 24 months of graduation (and 12 months of hire). RVT (ARDMS) or RVS (CCI) if required by hiring facility per CMS guidelines; BLS.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION: ARDMS or ARRT (with applicable sonography credential ‘S’, ‘BS’ or ‘VS’).

Under the guidance of the Director, supervises activities of technologists/students working and/or rotating through the department including their discipline and performance while in that area. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
